for what it's worth....

One of my favorite AMVs of all time: One Eyed Fish, a Mushi-shi anime music video, to Nightwish's "Last of the Wilds," which made me both grab the song and look up the manga/anime.

YouTube link: One-Eyed Fish (streaming)

This is one of the most shockingly gorgeous AMVs of all time. (The AMV.org link requires registration, but if you like the video, OMG it is so worth downloading, it's beautiful.) And the music, the music is amazing.

For what it's worth -- if I run a Changeling: The Lost game, ever, this video would be a good indication of what I'd do with the campaign. Except set in Seattle, not Japan. (In the general sense of unexplained creepy weirdness, I hasten to add, not the particulars.)

(The series doesn't have a connecting plot thread, so there aren't spoilers in the traditional sense... but there are scenes from various episodes that you might consider spoilery. Fair warning.)

I gotta say, it seems a bit spoilery--if this is a series to which that term can be said to apply, anyway.

Not a complaint, mind you, it's just something people seem to be sensitive about.

Given that it's totally episodic, without a plot thread connecting the episodes (beyond "Ginko travels from village to village and encounters various mushi there"), I don't think general spoiler awareness is... hm, quite relevant. But the concern is duly noted.

Hm. I guess, not having seen it, I overestimate the plottiness. So perhaps I should be restricting my comments to things I know something about. :)

I generally consider 'spoilery' to be in the range of 'something that's not going to be revealed for half the series and indeed has major plot elements built around the reveal, etc...'. I'd list some examples, but... er... yeah ;->

Something that's fully episodic, well... ok, I can think of possibly one thing in that video that might be spoilery in the 'you don't know about it when the series starts' vein, but it's also not a plot element, just some random thing they don't get around to.

Basically, I don't tend to feel that 'something you just don't happen to know right away' is spoilery (unless it actually, you know, matters), because then nothing could be watched.

Yah, don't mind me, I think I was just misinterpreting a few things.

this video would be a good indication of what I'd do with the campaign

as in, with all the squishy diseasey things spreading all over the place and people's eyes being poked out?

[identity profile] coraa.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
No; as in a more general sense of inexplicable weirdness.

[identity profile] istgut.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Inexplicable weirdness I like :)

[identity profile] jmpava.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that would be YOUR campaign ;->

You're projecting again :->

actually, I asked because I'm not really a fan of the gooey stuff and the eyes being poked out. In general, I don't like sentient goo.

Yay! Best rollerblading song ever! Except for possibly "My Eyes Are Red" and "Ritual Noise" :)

Wish i was rollerblading right now =P

Changeling: Lost?

Hey Coraa, I know that we aren't 'friends' but ran across you on LJ and saw that you are local and like Changeling. If you want to join a crew, or meet other local fans - let me know. Peace, *Kai
