I am now home from vacation! It was a lovely trip -- I slept a lot and ate a lot and saw wildlife and read about nine books in seven days. :D I'll need to catch up my bookblogging.
The wildlife I saw was a few whales, an orca, some Dall's porpoises, and bald eagles. I may or may not have seen some seals as well. (They were vague brown lumps in an area where the naturalist said we were likely to see seals/sea lions, but I didn't have binoculars so I couldn't be sure.) I'll post pictures as soon as I get them uploaded, but they're going to be mostly of scenery (which was also very beautiful), not of wildlife, just because generally every time I went OMG WHALE the whale had surfaced and then resubmerged within a minute, not long enough to get the camera ready.
Anyway! It was a very pleasant and relaxing vacation, and now I'm glad to be home.

My favorite whale moment was in Hawaii. We were driving along the coast of Maui to Lahaina and a mother humpback and baby were head-slapping over and over and over. Everyone stopped and pulled over to watch. Ahhhhh. :)

I'm definitely posting pictures soon. :) Once I sort the good ones from the out-of-focus ones....
