I wasn't feeling up to making anything for dinner tonight (I feel like I have the start of a sinusy cold), so we had bread, cheese, and apples. When I feel like getting off my butt again, we'll also have pickles and olives. And tea.

That can make quite a pleasant dinner.

That is one of my favorite dinners. Or lunches. Or (with crepes instead of bread) breakfasts. Sharp cheddar and Granny Smith apples. Mmmmm.

(Tea is also obligatory. Olives and pickes are optional but pleasant.)

Juat out of curiosity, what kinds of cheese?

An aged white cheddar and a wasabi horseradish cheddar. (Those were the two that were open and needed to be used most quickly.)

Don't they call bread, cheese, and pickles a "plowman's lunch" in English novels? I have that sometimes and it really hits the spot. Also, apples and cheese are always a good idea.

Bread and cheese and apples are delicious and thinking about them is making me hungry. It's like apple pie with cheese except healthy!
