Thought I'd put up one of my quick and easy go-to recipes.
I'm pretty sure I stole this recipe from
greensleeves_ years and years ago. It takes only a handful of inexpensive ingredients, ten minutes of prep time, and thirty minutes of baking time. And you can dress it up or down.
It's so simple that it's not even really a recipe, and I'm a little embarrassed to post it. But I really like it! And it's easy! So.
Spaghetti Bake
You can add vegetables or meat if you want, but I usually don't bother. It's very nice on its own.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Prep the pasta sauce if it needs prepping. (If you're opening a jar or defrosting extra homemade sauce, yay, you're done.)
Cook the pasta. Package directions are fine. Drain thoroughly.
Lightly grease an 8x8-inch pan. Add the pasta and then the sauce, and swirl it around. Top with the cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and bubbly. Let sit for 5-10 minutes after it comes out of the oven, to let it set a little, and then slice and serve.
It also freezes well; just let come all the way to room temperature, slice, wrap well, and freeze. Thaw and then reheat in the microwave.
I'm making it tonight with a very simple red sauce, whole-wheat spaghetti, mozzarella and parmesan. Yum.

- A cup or two of pasta sauce (depending on how sauce-y you like your pasta). Any type will work: tomato sauce, cream sauce, whatever. Jarred, homemade, or you can doctor up a jar of crushed tomatoes with a little garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Anything will do.
- 1/2 lb spaghetti (or other pasta, although noodles work best)
- Cheese, any kind you like, shredded, crumbled or chopped (amount depends on how much you
