The middle is windows? And what kind of cruel parents would name a child 'Meridian'? I'm afraid that this kind of naming scheme - windows, nights, nights_too - would put me right off the book.
And it sounds as if the writer hasn't really thought the scheme through to the next level of consequence. What decides whether someone is born on the good or bad side of things? Can they choose? Can a really nasty piece of work become a fenestrum and a good-hearted soul someone who has to send people to hell? And if the whole thing dependent on chance - 'happened to be where somebody died' or do they go and seek out such places - are there Nocti prowling hospital corridors or embedded in army units?
