The hot and muggy makes-me-want-to-do-nothing-but-lie-around-like-the-dead has passed, at least for now.

Pretty grey sky and grey water out the window, and it smells of rain.

You said it! The muggy has lifted down here a bit.

It wouldn't have bothered me so much, except it wasn't cooling down at night.

This, however, is really not August weather. Hot and muggy is very unpleasant (and if you think this was bad, try Boston), but at least it makes sense for August.

I see your Boston and raise you Atlanta. ;)

(I don't have a strong attachment to 'summer weather' or 'winter weather,' mostly because of living in Idaho, which had definitely 'summer weather' of 95-105F and 'winter weather' of ten below freezing and a foot of snow. And I loathed it; I was basically comfortable only for a couple months in spring and fall. So I'm more connected to 'am i comfortable now?' than 'is this really August weather?')

The seasonal thing I have become attached to is the sun staying up past 9. Sadly, that is beginning to go away now.

I, too, appreciated the break :-) Big surprise there.
