elemental kittycats

Alys is fascinated by water. Whenever I take a bath, she leaps up onto the edge of the tub, paces around, sniffs the water, paws at the water, tries to get to the other side of the tub, et cetera. She hasn't fallen in yet, but it's only a matter of time. She loves water.

Cordelia does not love the bath; in fact, while she comes in (mostly to see what Alys is doing, I think), she's terrified of it. Which you'd think was just a sign of superior intelligence, considering that it decreases her chances of accidental dousing. Except.... I found out today that she is fascinated by fire. I had lit a scented candle for when I was in the bath, and put it on the toilet seat lid, and Cordy kept sniffing around it, coiling around it, watching it, batting at it... I saved her from whisker-burning three separate times. In the end, she knocked it sideways and got wax on the toilet lid.

So obviously, Alys is our Water Cat, and Cordy is our Fire Cat.

I need an icon of the kitties.

Both my cats love water, and Boots loves fire... I mostly have very large jar candles, so that it's almost impossible for Boots to knock it over (I think the jar candles weigh almost as much as Boots does!) and it means that it's very hot before she gets to the flame (as the jar concentrates all the heat.) But yeah, espically when Boots was a kitten that was the only type of candle I could burn without worrying about Boots setting herself on fire.

Well...neither cat is on fire or waterlogged, so it is a little lackluster. As far as I can tell they could be one of the cats that lives here (the one on the right looks enough like Louie, the other one is obviously too small).
