Am currently at the local Neapolitan pizza restaurant, eating a late lunch alone. (I love eating out, alone, with a book.).

Across from me is a woman also eating alone. Long silver hair, glasses, friendly face. Reading a book. Pleasant to the waitstaff, keeping to herself.

I can't shake the feeling that I'm looking at myself, thirty years from now.

If that's my future, it makes me feel hopeful. And happy.

Reading this post makes me feel happy for some reason, too.

I had the same reaction when I saw a quirky older woman alone at the film society.

When I bought my motorcycle, I bought it from a dude who was living alone in his house, playing Call of Duty or some such game on a giant screen in his living room. The house was littered with hardware, and he was ex-Microsoft.

Made me feel the same way :-)

you are braver than me, I have never voluntarily eaten by myself at a restaurant! (coffee shops excluded of course)

I actually really like eating by myself in restaurants, usually with a book or something. But then, I'm weird. :D
