Thanks for posting this. I'm always on the lookout for more good books about female friendship, because they're hard to find.
I found the comments about the L. J. Smith and P. C. Cast books particularly interesting, because both series are extremely popular at the library where I volunteer, and I had dismissed them (purely on account of the covers - silly me) as Twilight rip-offs, with extra magic.
Just imagining a love pentagon makes my head ache, though.
