I have several e-mails I would like to reply to! But unfortunately tonight I have energy to do one more thing, and it's going to have to be chores. Have no fear, people of the Internets, I am not ignoring you! I will reply tomorrow, when the chores are under control.

PS: Apparently the smell of My Little Ponies—or, I assume, the specific combination of vinyl and nylon that make up My Little Ponies—is a really strong proustian memory generator for me. Go figure.

... it must be as you just managed to evoke it at a distance. My Little Ponies smell really distinctive, now that I think about it.

I got it into my head that it might be fun to mod them, because the idea of making a Edward Elric or Sethra Lavode pony amuses me to no end. So I ordered a batch of bait ponies (ponies sold very cheap because they're common or scuffed-up or have bad hair)... and when I opened the box, whammo. Distinctive pony-smell, and memories.

Fortunately, my memories of playing with ponies are pretty much all good ones!
