I got the Changeling book for the new World of Darkness today! yeeehaw!

(I don't know why I'm still buying these -- and still buying new Werewolf books as they come out -- when I have no gaming group. But still! Eee! Eee! Changeling and Werewolf are my two great RPG loves.)

There is a certain deeply geeky pleasure in reading RPG manuals, quite apart from whether one ever uses them. I still own the AD&D 2e PHB, DMG, and Monstrous Manual (well, they're probably in storage somewhere in California by now), and I've almost never actually played the game.

Yes! Part of it is the pleasure of getting into all the details of the setting, and part of it is the geeky joy of having everything laid out with numbers and odds and points and graphs....
