(I realize that this is opening myself to lots of discussion of it in the comments, so I'll say up front: I will ignore attempts to draw me into that with extreme prejudice. Also, yes, it applies to Linux, too.)

Date: 2008-01-26 06:52 pm (UTC)I have no objection whatsoever to 'omg, I love my [technology]! I love that it does X and Y, and Q is so shiny!' That's kind of fun to read, because I find enthusiasm delightful most of the time. It's when it switches over to 'therefore, you should stop using what you like, and start using what I like!' or 'and that's why your thing sucks in comparison!' that I think it's problematic.
