I've been having a lot of fun with the Amazon DRM-free MP3 store, which has more files all the time (I just did a check for some of the ones I hadn't been able to find when it first came out, and most of them are there by now). I always said that I'd be happy to buy my MP3s if they were reasonably-priced and DRM-free, and it's nice to find out that I was telling me the truth.
To that end, and since they're so damn affordable, I'd like to get some recs for individual songs, and if you rec 'em, I'll go download 'em. How's that for a music pimping opportunity! Some rules:
1. The song should ideally be something I can find on Amazon's MP3 downloads. I'm not going to ask you to go check, but really obscure filk artists or import-only albums are probably not there, for instance.
2. It should be one or two (three max) individual songs -- I don't want to have to pick at random from an artist's entire oeuvre, and I'm not shelling out for a whole album unheard.
3. I like most genres, but I don't care for country much at all. I also prefer things with a fairly good beat, and faster is better than slower, but if you really like a slow ballad, go ahead.
4. I am so not going to make fun of your taste in music, because mine sucks.
5. If you rec something I already know, I might ask you for another rec.
