Massive bookstore spoils today. Lots of manga, lots of YA fiction, lots of books-for-girls of both types. Including (but not limited to): Kaori Yuki's Godchild 1 & 2, Gallagher & Caston's Megatokyo 1-4, Lois Bujold's Sharing Knife: Legacy, Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic 1-4, Tim Powers' Anubis Gates, Tou Ubukata's Le Chevalier d'Eon 1 & 2, and Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. (I wanted to get the second Cantarella, but they didn't have it, though they had every other book; someone else must've pulled it recently. Next time.)

Tonight: I write a bit, see if I can finish this story up, and then take a pile of comfort reading and a cup of hot chocolate into a rose-scented bath with me as a reward. Mmm....

Yes! I've read all the Tortall books (except the Beka Cooper ones, which I haven't yet got to), but had never read the Circle series.

The Lioness and Wild Magic books are still primo comfort reading for me.

Good luck with the writing.

Love the icon. Mind if I steal it? ^^ I always forget her name...

Sheska! (Or Sciezka, depending on which transliteration you're using.)

I nicked it from [livejournal.com profile] anguisel; as far as I know, you're welcome to gank it, too, as long as you credit her in the comments. :D

Ooohh! I wanna know what you think about the Sharing Knife! :)

Which is the Circle of Magic books? I've read the Alanna ones, and i think the first book in one or two other series.

"Circle of Magic" is Pierce's other series, not set in Tortall. The first quartet (Sandry's Book, Tris's Book, Briar's Book, Daja's Book) is what I picked up last night. They looked like fun.

You're going to want the second sharing knife as soon as you finish the first, just so you know.
