(no subject)

We bought a roomba. It is adorable. It just spent half an hour cleaning the floors (I needed to empty it out once), whirring around and bonking into things like a small and somewhat stupid animal, then sang a little 'I'm done' song and put itself to sleep. Aaawwwww.

(As an added bonus, the floors actually are clean now!)

Today I need to:

* Finish up some work. Yay overtime!
* Clean the parts of the kitchen that are not the floor.
* Inventory my fridge, pantry and freezer, so as to eat the things I have before I buy more.
* Make a grocery list for the things we are out of. (Hopefully will make it to Uwajimaya this week.)
* Maybe do a little more sorting of my beads.
* Write.

Our roomba is so stupid too! It's fabulous, isn't it? Just wait until it eats something it shouldn't and starts singing its sad song.

It sang a sad little song today because it got stuck. (It crawled over the base of a chair but couldn't craw back out, so it went whirrWHIRRWHIRR *sad song* and I had to go rescue it.)

I love its sad song! I love its happy "I'm all finished and docked again" song too, but I hear the sad song much more often.

What are its songs? Is there anything besides "I'm done!" and its sad song?

It makes a series of little melodic beeps, but given that it's really, really distressingly easy to anthropomorphize, well -- 'singing' doesn't seem so far off.

It has an 'I've woken up and am ready to go!' song, too. I think that's it. The wake-up song when it wakes up, the sleep song when it's ready to sleep, and the sad song whenever it gets stuck.

I want a roomba! I'm so tired of sweaping up the cat litter and cat hair that ends up all over the apartment... which apperently you now get to deal with too, lucky you! :o)
