Art: Earrings
Feb. 5th, 2009 02:39 pmGot some pictures taken on my lunch break (so I could do it in natural daylight). Here are the two pairs of earrings I made last night:
The Dragonfly King Is In Mourning
In order from earwire down to spiral: light-purple faceted glass with some kind of iridescent coating, silver spacer bead, black faceted glass (for that fake-jet look!), silver spacer bead, light sage-green glass with iridescent shimmer. On 20-gauge sterling silver wire, with sterling silver earwires.
Night in the Palace of the Winter King
In order from earwire to end: blue goldstone (blue glass with copper flecks suspended in it; you can't see the sparkles very well in the pics, but you can sort of see in the rightmost earring in the second picture below), sterling silver spacer bead, glass 'windowpane' bead with mirror finish, silver spacer bead, blue glass, white plastic leaf. On 20-gauge sterling silver wire, with sterling silver earwires.
Also, I have to say, investing in real silver wire and good-quality tools was well worth it. I can tell the difference immediately.
Think I'm going to make some more tonight. And a bracelet to go with 'Night in the Palace...'
