Apr. 5th, 2009 12:55 pmI posted this as a comment in
livinglaurel's journal, but I want to pull it out and post it here. Consider it an ad hoc 'things that made me happy today':
[It's] one of those beautiful Seattle days where it's not too bright and sunny and there's still a faint misty haze, but it's also not raining on your head, which makes it perfect walking weather, in my opinion. And the crocuses are coming up, and the daffodils, and there are trees with clouds of pink and white and yellow blooms on them. I saw a hummingbird just a few days ago outside my second-story window, drinking from the flowers on the neighbor's tree. (I don't know what kind of tree it is, but it has these clumps of tiny trumpet-shaped yellow blossoms, in which the hummingbird was very interested.)
I'm going to pry the boy out of bed, and see if he wants to go to the Tangletown Elysian brewpub for lunch, and then walk around Green Lake, because it's that kind of day. Hello, spring. ♥

Date: 2009-04-06 01:28 am (UTC)What are raspberry plants like -- are they thorny tangles like blackberries, or more restrained plants like strawberries? Seems like that'd make a difference in the decision.... (If you keep them, and if you have more raspberries than you can eat, I'd be happy to take some off your hands in return for giving you a few pints of home-canned raspberry jam....)
