In the first ten minutes of Battlestar Galactica reboot miniseries, two lessons:

1. If you create a sapient slave race, do not be surprised when they rise up violently against you.
1a. If you do above, expect my sympathy for you to be somewhat, ahm, tempered.
2. If a very, very, very hot blonde woman emissary of said sapient former-slave race shows surprising amounts of interest in you, maybe be suspicious before you stick your tongue in her mouth?

(I am enjoying it! And I love Starbuck! Just. I suspect I'm expected to be more sympathetic to these errors on the part of the characters than I am. ;) )

EDIT: Wow, my point #2 was even more apropos than I thought! Is it bad that I want the cylon to totally pwn Mr. Overconfident Dickweed right now?

EDIT2: And Mr. Overconfident Dickweed gets pwned HARDCORE. Um. Go cylons?

Yay! I'm glad you like it. I, too, love Starbuck, but part of me wants to be miss hawt cylon in the red dress. ;-)

Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far -- although I'm kind of feeling the 'well, gee, you made a bunch of inhuman -- literally -- efficient creatures, and then subjugated them, what did you EXPECT?' I think I'll feel more sympathy for the main characters when they become a doomed race. ;)
