Another poll just for the sake of random curiosity....

Since I know people will ask: define 'computer' however you want to define it. For myself, I define it to exclude game systems (so, not NES, not that I had one) and single-purpose tools (so the Speak-n-Spell doesn't count ;) ).

EDIT: As several people have noted, I should have added an age question; since this was idle curiosity, I didn't think that far. Anyway, for reference, the average age of respondents so far seems to be 27-33, ish.

Hmmm...but isn't that so entirely dependent on age? Like, I had my first computer when I was 15, but that was in 82, and so still pretty unusual. Whereas if I'd take my kids, they never lived in a house without computer and had their own at like 6 or so...

Oh, yes, entirely. That's actually part of what I'm intrigued by -- the way even just a decade makes a difference between whether you first used a computer as an adult, or you can't remember a time when you didn't use a computer.

I probably should have put a question in about age, but I didn't think of that.

Just what I was going to say, yes. I first used a computer when I was nine years old. And that was in 1975, when getting to use a computer was a Big Deal.
