Getting a hotel room by oneself, which means getting the whole bed to spread out on, and taking over all the outlets, and being able to wander around the room at five pm in one's underwear with impunity.

....not to mention not having to buy groceries, cook or wash the dishes for once; one does grow weary of one's own cooking upon occasion...

It's true! Although those are general hotel-stay pleasures, rather than staying-in-a-hotel-alone pleasures.
