(This seems like the perfect type of question for an 'ask lj/dw'.)

Where did the line "Come with me if you want to live" originate? This is one of the things that's very hard to research via Internet, because if you Google it you get a squillion, varied responses.

Found you through Recent Things.

Looks like it came from the originalTerminator movie.

(I say "possible" because I'm on dialup, and not willing to wait 8 minutes for the scene to load to find out if it's the right part.)

The Ninth Doctor says it in his introductory episode.

I'm sure it floats around other movie/TV sources, though.

Wasn't it Terminator? Or did it predate that?

That was what I thought, too. It's in the original, but the line was much more memorable in T2 (Ahnold >> Michael Biehn), so that's what I usually tie the reference to.

Almost positive Terminator (1) was the first use of this line.

I first heard it in Terminator.

Err..maybe Terminator 2, because I think good Arnie says it at the very beginning of T2

I think it's first in Terminator 1, where Kyle Reese says it to Sarah. The Terminator echoes it in T2 because of that.

Exactly. Search for "come with me" in the scripts, and you'll find it in both.

T1

T2

I've been beaten to the answer many times over, but this reminds me, we so need to watch these (and Aliens) sometime.
