buymeaclue, I have about, oh, one-quarter of a novel idea. I have my protagonist -- Sigilind. Like Emily Dickinson, she is "small, like the wren; and my hair is bold, like the chestnut burr; and my eyes, like the sherry in the glass that the guest leaves." She is a reader, a dedicated student, a gentle-woman (and a gentlewoman) and a worker of small magics. I have her devoted but helpless brother Theudmund, I have her captor Murghad, I have her sometime-ally sometime-enemy Calibrid, I have vague hints of the beginning, and bits of the middle, and the end, where she turns her mule on the road that will lead her home.
But I don't have enough to hang it together as a plot. Bother.
