May. 1st, 2007 12:17 pmFirst, the happy thing. I made cheesecake last night, and dragged people over to help me eat it. (It's actually, uh, Vossler York Azelas cheesecake, recipe courtesy of another fangirl I know. dork dork dork.)


Then, the thinky thing. I am, as is no shock to any of you, I'm sure, one of those people for whom social events -- even social events I enjoy -- are more draining than energizing. The frustrating thing is that I can't... always predict the rate of drain. Sometimes twelve hours of a party will leave me only mildly more tired than I would be otherwise -- but sometimes five minutes will not only use up my day's reserves but borrow on reserves through the next week. I'm more or less at peace with this -- I am coming to realize that introversion is not a crime, so long as you do have meaningful friendships and can function in daily life and the workplace without problems -- but it's kind of annoying not to be able to accurately plan around it.
