the owl and the olive tree

First appearance of an actual bird at the birdfeeder yesterday: a chickadee (I think). Or actually two chickadees, neither of whom got much to eat because as soon as one settled in, the other chased the first off.

Hooray! I'd been sadly chalking the bird feeder up as a failed experiment, since it went so long with no visitors, but there's hope....
