First appearance of an actual bird at the birdfeeder yesterday: a chickadee (I think). Or actually two chickadees, neither of whom got much to eat because as soon as one settled in, the other chased the first off.

Hooray! I'd been sadly chalking the bird feeder up as a failed experiment, since it went so long with no visitors, but there's hope....

I've thought about getting a bird feeder so that I can get pictures of the nice little birds we see sometimes. But I think that if I set one out, I would end up getting giant crows and squirrels and an overly anxious dog that will bark at them all.
