Dear body,

You are currently getting very good at sleeping for a solid 6-7 hours through the night! That's excellent! It's a tremendous improvement!

However, it would be nice if those 5-7 hours were not between 2:30 and 9:30 AM.

Can we try for more like... 12:30AM to 8:00AM? Plz?

Could be worse. Could be my eight hours from 11:30 PM to 2:00 AM, 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, and several naps thereafter, with random changes in times and lengths-of-sleep over the past three months, with no correlation between when and how much I sleep and the weather, hormones, food or caffeine levels, or stress factors. Damn sleep cycle.

(I found Gayle Greene, Insomniac, Los Angeles. University of California Press. 2008. ISBN 978-0-520-24630-0, to be mildly educational on the subject. No Amazon link; there's a thunderstorm outside and I don't want to be online much longer....)
