Green beans, grilled until they blister and turn brown, are really quite nice. (I imagine they'd be nice broiled, too.)

I do something similar - toss them in a little good oil, maybe tuck a few garlic cloves in with them, splash them with balsamic vinegar when they come out of the oven.
